Throwback Tuesday L'oreal Contest Nail Polishes

So I came across this the other day and I wanted to share it with you guys.

Vintage items are always a fun thing to find because they show of flashes of the past that we may or may not have been a part of. This polish I found was sold in the late 80's by L'Oreal. It is a beautiful red with gold shimmer called Scarlet Gold. I have been scouring the internet because I wanted to see if I could find anything about the promotion that it has on it. That's probably the coolest part of it.

Now this polish is still shrink wrapped and comes with a key to a Plymouth Sundance. The company had a giveaway for the chance to win a brand new 198? Plymouth Sundance (I say ? because I can't read the year without opening it up and I don't want to unseal it).

I am a big sweepstaker so I thought this was super cool and wanted to share it with you all. How fun, right? I mean a contest that was going on probably close to the year I was born and here it is a piece that was never used. I wonder how the contest ran, I wonder if the person that won if it was their first new car or if it was nothing big. I wonder if it changed their life.

So what do you think? Pretty cool, or just a polish? Have you ever found any cool?

  1. Haha, that's awesome. Maybe your key is the winner. I have some of that same polish, same bottle type as that's one and its STILL good, I swear! Wish I could post a picture of it.
