Generation Beauty May 31st Registration and Fabulous People

So today was the first day of a great event being held in L.A. this weekend called Generation Beauty. It is a meeting of Beauty bloggers, vloggers, lovers and industry professionals. I am so excited for the line up tomorrow. Today was our meet and greet with other attendees and registration.

I stopped at the mall before driving out to LA and got my free Lacie Thong from Victoria's Secret, a sample of Smashbox's CC Cream, and a baggie of samples from MAC. (I know I couldn't believe it when MAC gave me samples, I didn't know what to do). I was a happy camper for sure.

So we drove to LA, my only complaint is parking is too high in LA. I had to pay $15 for 3 hours. But that is life in LA. We went over to the Yard House to meet up with a large group of gals.

I think the internet is just a fabulous thing. I mean I met today 20+ girls today all because we share common interests and we all were looking to network and make friends, and we all use facebook. I think it's just awesome that I live in a time that it is possible to do such a thing.

I had a blast at the Yard House, we ate and talked and got to know each other and then took some pictures. I will be posting a ton of pictures from the event this weekend.

I also will share all the different places you can look up these lovely ladies, youtube channels, twitters, and blogs.

Our makeup community is so wonderful. We help each other out and it's so neat that we can all come together like this.

The Place Beyond the Pines a review and Nail Art

Now when this hit the theatres I really wanted to see it. I love all of the main characters. I adore Bradley Cooper (I fell even more in love with him recently in Silver Linings Playbook, such an incredible film). I think Ryan Gosling is a cutie. The trailer made the movie look interesting a carnie guy finds out he has a kid and the story is intertwined with a cop who is trying to stay clean when all the cops around him are dirty.

So the movie was really different then I imagined it to be. The trailer is not exactly good at telling you what is going on, thats no good.. I really really wanted to love it. It got so many high reviews and with the cast I was really excited. I didn't enjoy it. I hate saying anything bad about anything because it is someone's work and dream. So I am going to try to focus on the things I did like about the film. Bradley Cooper. LOL. He really is a great dramatic actor. I felt his character was the best written for the movie. He really brought it.

The story was a little to stereotypical for me and way too clique. I just couldn't get into it.

I used Anise Rock Your World for the base color. Then I used Anise Wasabi for the trees and money sign. I know I am not the best artist but at some point I will get better.

DIY Crayola Crayon Lipsticks first run

So I have seen people do this on youtube and I have been wanting to try it out. I decided to go out and purchase some items to make this work. It's the first time I had tried it so I stayed in the non scary realm of things and just used 3 simple colors Pink Carnation, Red Violet and Red Orange. The next time when I get more containers I will be putting in some essential oils and mixing the colors to get more fun colors I haven't tried.

I bought a box of Crayola Crayons, a bottle of Coconut Oil, a bottle of Pure Olive Oil and 2 bowls to mix everything in.

It is really simple, just pick a color. I first choose Pink Carnation. Unwrap it. (I forgot to take a picture of the pink unwrapped). Next take a half tablespoon of Olive Oil and a half tablespoon of Coconut Oil. Take the crayon break it up and put the bowl in the microwave. I did it for about 2 minutes and 30 seconds, but I was constantly checking up on it. Didn't want to over cook it. Then I took it out of the microwave and stirred it up a bit. Then I took a spoon and spooned in a little at a time quickly. (I got better as I went) into the container I had available. Then I repeated each step for each color. I took lots of pictures and I plan to do a youtube diy for you all soon, but for now here's my learning attempts.

It goes on a little waxy, but I'm ok with that since this was my first attempt. I already ordered other stuff to try out. It smells like crayons in the container but doesn't really taste like crayons (maybe a little waxy tasting but not really), and I can't smell any smell when it is on my lips. I did get some essential oils to help with the smell for next time. I can't wait to make and mix tons of colors. I just made the world of lipstick an infinite place for me.

Have any of you all done something like this yet? Did you enjoy it?

Ipsy's Generation Beauty is this weekend and I will be there.

I will be at Ipsy's Generation Beauty this weekend, mingling with other beauty bloggers, makeup bloggers and other makeup/beauty enthusiasts. I will be taking a lot of seminars about beauty blogging, vlogging and everything to do with social media. I am so very excited.

I will be posting pictures of all the booths, the people who attend, beauty gurus, and my haul. I can't wait to share my experience with you.

Nail Mail and purchases while out and about this week 5/27-5/29

So I wanted to start this where once a week I show off what I got in the mail or what I purchased, before you see my swatches and reviews of things. This will be anything cool I found while out. So not always completely nail or beauty stuff. I love sharing with you all. I love also hearing from you guys and finding out about your incredible finds throughout your week.

So first off I'm gonna start out with my nail mail. I got 3 botles of polish from ILNP (I Love Nail Polish) during her $3 sale for her old bases. I have really wanted to try out her polishes so I am super excited and the box is just too darned cute.

Next I got my Hooray for May Mystery Julep box with 6 polishes in it. I really love julep the polishes are really nice. I have seemed to misplace this box and I am going crazy trying to find it.

I got a bottle of Lime Crime's Creme De Lemon. I really love Lime Crime and I have yet to try the nail polish, so I was super excited.

Then I stopped at Target this week and got 2 really great superhero sippy cups. I got a Batman and a Wonderwoman one. I use them when I am working on my computer and all my swatching is happening so I don't spill on my computer or other stuff. But I am a little sad that the Wonderwoman one isn't that cute because it is the wrong colors, but that's ok. I still love them both.

Then I picked up the Sally Hansen Sugar Coat and Fuzzy Coat. I am in love with the new textured stuff so I really wanted to check out the new ones from this brand. I will be posting about them very soon. I got a bright vibrant blue and a peach one.

I went over to H&M because like 2 weeks ago they did a thing if you bought anything you got a giftcard for $5 towards your next purchase. So I picked up $15 worth of stuff for the $3 I spent 2 weeks ago. I got 4 lip balms, 1 set of wet wipes and a hair clip. I got $24 worth of stuff. I am quite happy with the stuff. I love the lip balms. I can't wait to review them for you guys.

I ran over to Urban Outfitters for the clearance sale they were having I grabbed 5 bronzers. I am in love with the bronzers. I haven't really used any bronzer so this is my new starter set.

I went to DSW and got two of the Anise polishes one neon green and a bronze. I really dig this polish. I fell in love with the other 2 that I got last time I had a $10 giftcard. That's how I grab the polishes whenever I get giftcards, since I own far too many pairs of shoes.

Lastly I picked up an adorable neon dress and a very cute black and neon green skirt. I got them on clearance over at Jcpenney. I loved them a month ago and when I saw them on clearance I was overly excited. I used the Giftcard I won to grab them.

Julep Hooray for May Mystery Box Version 2

So I got my May Mystery Box from Julep in the mail today and it's version 2 again.. lol.. I think they want me to always get version 2. So another small box, but that's the way of mystery boxes. This time the boxes were pure polish unless you got the big box. So it was 6 polishes or a ton more lol.

I instantly knew it was a small box by the size of the box I received. I was ok with that. The box they send is worth more then the price that I paid so it is always a great way to go.

This box came with 6 bottles of polish and a sample of hand creme. I thankfully didn't own any of the polishes so no dupes this time.

I got Alice, Avery, Sharon, Charlie, Vanessa, Grace

Northern Lights Gold Holographic Top Coat Review

I love the whole new holographic phase that the nail world is going through. I Had never used a holo top coat before and I had this one gifted to me. So I thought I would give it a whirl on some darker colors. I really like it. I can't wait to use it more often. It gives a nice uniform coat. I love the way it sparkles. The colors really sparkle in the sun. It is a great top coat for any day that you want your nails to really shine.

So here is the top coat over Jungle Trail. See how it just really pops.

Now here it is over Black On Black. I really like the way it shows up on the black.

Now the polish does have a strong smell to it, but if that doesn't bother you then this is the perfect holo top coat for you.

Sinful Colors Black on Black and Jungle Trail review and swatches

I really dig Sinful Colors. I think I have said this before I have talked about them a few times before. I bought these ones because I needed a good black and gray. Thankfully I swatched these right before I broke my pinky nail. My poor nails break so easy.

I really thought the polishes went on crazy smooth. I really liked how easy they go on. Barely any streaking and that is so important in a polish. The next thing that I really love about the polish is the way that it dries on the nail.

Here is Black on Black.. so beautiful and shiny. It dries almost gel like. I am so glad I picked up this polish.

Here is Jungle Trail a gorgeous gray. I love it and can't wait to use it in some nail art. Both polishes just dried so pretty. I really adore Sinful colors.
