The Croods movie review and makeup look

So I have been watching movies a lot lately and I wanted a reason to talk about them. Then I thought why not do makeup looks based off of them and then I have a reason to talk about them. YAY.

I went this weekend and saw The Croods. My mothers boyfriend wanted to see it, and he had just taken us to see 42 and bought me a BuildaBear (I feel like a little kid again lol) so I was all for it. Even though I wasn't sure I wanted to see it because of the mixed reviews I heard from people. I did see some funny parts in the trailers so I thought I must give it a try.

The movie is about a caveman family named The Croods, who must give up everything they know to escape the end of the world. The daughter finds a boy named Guy who helps them on the journey who is also in search of Tomorrow, his idea of paradise.

The movie has some funny parts, and there are some cute characters written in. We all had a laugh, belt was cute, there was some good one liners. A lot of the funniest parts of the movie were in the trailer. That's usually my biggest fear with comedies is trailer talk up. When all the best parts of the film are in the trailers. I hate it. This movie was kinda like that. Not that it was unbearable to sit through but it was just about what I was expecting. Not really my cup of tea, but not so bad that I didn't like it.

The animation is well done, the scenery is gorgeous and fun to watch. The animals they created were beautiful. I loved the Saber Tooth Tiger he was so full of beauty and colorful. I am already looking at Fur Dyes for snotti. I think she would be gorgeous.( I won't really mostly because she is an old kitty and I'd rather she enjoy life then be annoyed at me.)

Overall the movie was a bit too overdone for me. I mean would I watch it again, sure if my little cousins wanted to watch it, would I choose it to rent on a movie night, No. If you have little kids they will enjoy it and you won't hate it and might even laugh some at the film.

So I did some bright vibrant looks for the film since it is full of life and color.

I used Orly Razzamatazz, Essence Snow White Collection Doc, Kat Von D Sparklehorse, Pretty Polished Martian Salad and Pretty Polished Pool Party. In that order thumb to pinkie.

Julep It Girl Starter Box.

I started with Julep back when they first started. I was a maven a very long time ago. I guess when I stopped purchasing they stopped my account. Since they have started me over when I went to buy a maven box for May. So instead I ended up with a Starter box for It Girl for this month. But I like the three colors I got though. It was not a loss cause.

I am glad that got Carly. It is a beautiful color. Also all the rest of the colors are quite wonderful. I am glad to be starting up again sadly though starting in June. I am sad I am missing the May box. I wanted it.

If you haven't started out with Julep you might want to, the polish is very nice and the other products are fun to play with. If you decide you can check it out here. If you do Use FREEBOX and get your first box for only $3.99. JULEP MAVEN

Downtown Disney Paintings I want to buy

This is in no way the only ones I want to purchase, but this is a couple I saw the other day that I would love to have hanging in my house. I already have 4 Giclee's of Jessica Rabbit that I have purchased throughout the years, that when I own a home will be proudly displayed, (all bought at different christmas times when I could use someone's 35% to take off a couple hundred to make them a bit cheaper.)

So you can see who I favor, I love the princesses but I have favorites of course.

I love Ariel she is by far my favorite princess, red hair, a singer, and a mermaid, all a plus in my book.

A healthier tomorrow.

So my boyfriend and I are going to start eating healthier. He actually said to me today, I'd like you to make me a salad like the one at Olive Garden for my lunches. I love salad so I am so happy to do it. We also are going to start only eating lean meats and fish. Going to try to cut out carbs and dairy (which is incredibly hard for me.) I don't like the taste of most food and use dairy products to mask the flavor of most things.

So hopefully you wont mind too much if from time to time I post some recipes or workout stuff, I am trying to make myself better, emotionally, physically and mentally. I am working on all aspects of my life. I want to feel better, and be better.

So tell me your favorite meals. I'd love to hear them.

Sample Fun Times Orogold 24K Moisturizing Day Cream

I get handed a bag of samples everytime I go to the mall, mostly because I spend so much time at my makeup counters and inside sephora that I know everyone and they are always making suggestions for new stuff for me to try, or stuff I haven't tried yet. I absolutely love it, but then I end up with 100's of samples I never get around to using. So I am going to start trying to use 2-3 a week and post about them, that way I get to try something new, you get to see a new product and they don't go to waste. It's a win win for everyone.

I don't really like moisturizer it feels thick on my skin and I am always constantly trying new ones because I pretty much hate them all. So I thought maybe I should start doing samples on moisturizers since I'm so hard core on them and try to get over my annoyance with moisturizer. I feel the same way about lotion though, I hate the way it feels on my skin. It just feels sticky to me, never found one that didn't. Even the best ones feel weird to me.

So I choose to start with Orogold, if you have ever been inside a mall you probably have been approached by one of the people at the kiosks. I think we have a kiosk in every mall around here for this brand. I actually walked by the store today and was given this one. I have probably 30 more in my samples buckets but since this one is in my hands right now it is the one that will have to do.

It has a perfumed smell to it and it left my skin feeling a bit sticky. It feels sticky but not really greasy I like that feeling. The smell is pretty strong but not overwhelming.

Cheshire Cat shoes, they are still a WIP...

So I started working on these, they aren't by any means done, and I am going to redo the eyes, but I wanted to show off my having fun, don't be too cruel, I used a sponge to paint them so they didn't come out exactly how I wanted them, but that's for next time.

So have you done anything artistic lately? I am going to make a shadow box of my trip to Vegas with my boyfriend, hopefully gonna get to work on it soon, saved everything, just need the time.

MAC Baking Beauties Gorgeous Collection

I stopped by my MAC store today because I saw beautiful cakes in the window and I forgot that the new collection Baking Beauties just hit stores. Now I like MAC I think it is beautiful makeup, but I have other high end brands I purchase but I love looking at all the gorgeous stuff they put out and grabbing something for myself every now and then.

My store is almost always out of the popular colors, but sometimes the Nordstrom at the end of the mall still has them, that's how I got lucky with the Embrace Me lipstick last time.

These are some of collection. I like the look of the blushes.

The 4 lipcolors that are part of the collection are Devil's Food a very rich dark red, Lavender Whip a light violet, Pure Decoration which is a coral color, and Raspberry Swirl which is a light pinkish raspberry color. I love all four colors they are beautiful. You can see them on MAC's website here.

Julep Mystery Sea Salt Box

I bought the Julep Mystery Sea Salt Box and was so excited to have it coming on its way. I will say I got a #4. I was hoping for anything other then the smallest box of mystery. So I was a little sad, but it is great products so I'm not too sad.

I got 3 polishes and a body scrub and a body cream. The colors are beautiful and I don't already own any of them so yippee. I haven't tried the body products yet so this will be something new and fun for me.

Great items from Julep as always. I really like the three colors that I got. They are all beautiful. This is just an unveiling of the box, swatches of the colors will be coming up shortly.

Ally is a gorgeous Blue, Melissa is a holo white and Sadie is a sea salt finish dark red I believe, maybe brownish black, haven't swatched it yet. Swatches to come soon of all 3 colors and a review on the body products.. They have been placed in que :)

If you haven't started out with Julep you might want to, the polish is very nice and the other products are fun to play with. If you decide you can check it out here. If you do Use FREEBOX and get your first box for only $3.99. JULEP MAVEN

Cherimoya Silver Liquid Eyeliner

So I grabbed this baby when Sidecca was closing at my mall a month or so back and finally got the chance to swatch it for you. I hate pencil eyeliners, I much prefer liquid eyeliner, its so much sharper and easier to work with.

This beautiful color is really nice and goes on clean, I like the look of it. It didn't smudge and was real easy to work with. I can't wait to use it in a look.

This will run you not on sale anywhere from $1 to $3 depending on where you find it. I liked it. I wish they had more colors that day so I would have more to play with.

AERIE free bra, undies or $5 for trying on a bra.

So it started today and ends either Sunday or whenever your store runs out of coupons.

So I hopped in the car this morning before work and went to go check it out. I don't own anything from AERIE so I thought why not give it a shot, and I hadn't been to that mall in a while even though its less then 20 miles from my house. My mother decided to come along ( I always invite her when there is free stuff to be had.), she wanted to check out the mall too.

So we got there and unlike the last promotion they did for Lipgloss the store was empty, I was surprised. I grabbed a Brigette bra (in the wrong size, I was still sleepy) and took it into the dressing room with me. Didn't fit, lol. So I grabbed some from the try on drawer all the bras in my size were too big and bulky. (I never realized it as a problem since like all my bras are from Victoria's Secret and there D isn't like huge, I hate that like half your body look.) So I didn't find anything I liked. Neither did my mother. I was sad because I really liked the polka dotted orange one they had.

The girl came over and gave us our coupons. We both were awarded a free pair of undies. I got Green and White polka dotted boyshorts. I like them and they are super cute. So definitely happy we went.

So if you like AERIE's bras or are looking for a bra and there is an AERIE at your mall why not stop by this weekend and give it a go, you might get a free bra, a pair of undies, or a $5 giftcard. Not bad at all.

A healthier and Toner Summer

Alrighty so I want to share with you all, and I don't how it will be taken. But my boyfriend and I both are on a fitness/toning/healthy lifestyle journey. I am tired of being out of shape and want to tone up my body. I know that I am not overweight, but sometimes I get hard pressed to feel like my body is not want I want. I am very lucky in the sense that I do not gain weight from food, so my bad eating habits are constantly allowed to run rampant. I want to start eating better, but I have tons of allergies and a lot of dislike for food.

My main goal is to tone up my body, this last summer I was offered a postition working for a company as a fitness model/ representative of the brand and I didn't want to take it because though I look good in jeans, I don't look as good in a bathing suit. So I am going to change that. I want to feel good about myself again.

So I will be posting about my workouts and healthier eating from time to time. I would love for others to post about their journeys whether it be losing weight, getting healthier or what not. I love to support others in the choices they make. So lets all complete our goals together.

Dr Who Geekiness and MLP and the Tardis YAY

So today I went to Olive Garden with my boyfriend, Nana and my mother for my boyfriend's birthday. Then afterwards we went to the mall to get him his birthday freebie. I know its all about the freebies. Our mall gives a $10 giftcard for joining the mall club for your birthday. He agreed to go so I could use it and a $15 off $30 at Hot Topic to get my Tardis Tunic Dress and a My Little Pony Dr. Whooves funko figurine. I had wanted to get the Tardis dress for a while and I figured I might as well grab it for half price while I had the chance. I already own a couple of the geeky tunic dresses. I am in love with geeky clothing.

I love my new Dr. Whooves. I am a huge My Little Pony fan. I own hundreds of the original ponies from the 80's. I also have every single my little pony from every collection in the 2000's minus the newest ponies.

I am a lover of Spike the dragon. I wish the shirt they had at Hot Topic with Spike on it, didn't have a mustache, because I don't find that entertaining.

I was lucky to pick up the last size small for the Tardis Tunic Dress. I totally love it.

Spent $20 tonight for about $45 worth of items. Love a great steal. :)

Victoria's Secret PINK MLB Dogs

So I collect the PINK dogs from Victoria's Secret. I also collect the dog on any product. I have tons of shirts, undies, sweats and more all with the adorable silhouetted puppy on them.

This week they came out with MLB - Major League Baseball themed dogs, one for each team. Now I wish I had that kind of money to grab one of each, but I don't and further more, the stores only sell dogs that match to where close by teams are located. So I was only able to pick up in my store Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and Los Angeles Dodgers puppies. Luckily for me I had a free Victoria's Secret giftcard I had recieved so I ordered among other things 2 more dogs the Giants and the Cubs. (I have a soft spot for the CUBS, I did a play that was literally horrible and to this day it makes me think fondly of the CUBS, because it was soo bad that it was almost entertaining, probably not for the people that paid to see it but at least for me the Stage Manager/Small Bit Part/WTF is going on mindreader.)

Now I was super happy because when the promotion started I was out of town and figured there wouldn't be a chance for me to get any of the VS Pink dogs when I got home, but they still had them YAY.

The Body Shop Rose Lip Roll On

So I bought from The Body Shop a lip roller in Rose. I like the scent of Roses so that's why I picked it out.

The lip balm comes in a roller ball form and it's more slick like gloss. It tastes like roses and is slippery on the lips. The little roller ball is made of metal and is very cold. I liked the wetness of the lip roll on when it finally starts flowing.

Overall I like it, it's a bit over scented but it doesn't taste horrendous and leaves my lips feeling pretty good without feeling too sticky. Best part is the product is 100% natural. So you know what you are putting into your body.

This will run you about $6 at your local The Body Shop

The Body Shop Earth Day edition

Now I will admit. I don't really shop at The Body Shop, not for any reason that would put them in a bad light, mostly just because I get so much stuff free from contests and from coupons or giftcards that buying much of anything in the bath or skincare department is not really useful. So when I saw they had for Earth Day a buy anything get a free shower gel, I knew the time had come for me to grab something and try out the shower gel at least (I mean how can I pass up free.) So we ventured down to the mall and almost left because the shop they had been in is now going to soon be an Art of Shaving store. I was gonna just leave when I decided to quickly google it. It had moved and so we ran down to the other side of the mall.

I didn't want to buy anything big so I grabbed one of the roll on lip balms in Rose. ( There will be a post about that this week.) Spent $6 on the lip balm and got a full size shower gel in Watermelon and Eucalyptus for free. Not a bad deal at all. I love the dragon fruit lip balm but they didn't have any or I would have gotten that.

The shower gel smells incredible and I can't wait to use it. The cool thing is the bottle is completely recyclable and that's just awesome.

Sample Fun Day - Glam Glow Super MUD Clearing Treatment

So I have seen other bloggers do this and I thought with the 9 million samples I have laying around I might as well give it a go as well. So I am going to once a week try out a sample that I recieved. I have literally boxes of samples I never try or use that go wasted. (Well other then shampoo ones, I keep those in a seperate container and when someone I know goes on vacation I make them a airport travel bag.)

So this week is Glam Glow's SUPER-MUD clearing treatment. My skin hasn't been the happiest lately so it's in need of some TLC. I have heard great things about this brand but have never ventured to try it out. So here goes nothing.

So it says on the packet :Apply a thin layer to clean skin. Leave on for five, 10, 15, or 20 minutes. Pore-Matrix™ will reveal dots of vacuum extractions. Remove with water. Use as often as needed. Use as a full mask or spot treatment.

I was not expecting it to immediately start drying as it hit my fingertips to put it on my face. So this is one of those products you have to be quick about. I tried my hardest to put it on evenly but I didn't get it to cover completely, there wasn't enough in the packet but there was a good amount. I got most of my face.

So like most masks it dries and makes making facial movements hard. Which is kind of fun. It kind of made my skin feel tingly. Or maybe that's not the right word. It made my skin feel slightly weird almost tight.

Right off the bat while it was drying I noticed my pores, they are bigger then normal. It's from the stress of things. Soon though all things will be worked out, or my new Clarisonic will make my skin better.

The full size of this product sells for $69 for a 1.2 oz product or so says the website but that seems low. I know its not the biggest container but its not super small for that price.

Final Verdict I left it on for 20 minutes and took it off.. My face looks brighter and feels soft. I don't know yet about long term effect or anything but I like the way my skin feels right now. I might try to see if I can get a couple more samples and see if it works well overtime before committing to a $70 face mask but I like where it is going.

A little behind.

So I sat down before my trip and got myself caught up to the day after my trip, but now I am scrambling to get caught up because there were so many other things in my life that need tending too. Like I am starting College again. YAY for me. I will be a full time student starting this coming semester so I am trying to get all of that together. As well as I am starting my own line of makeup products. You will see them starting to trickle in, during the next couple of months. On top of that I work 2 jobs and sell online. So I am almost never free and during any free time my boyfriend wants me to spend my time with him, which I am more then happy to do.

Nivea Lip Butters New and Improved

Now Rite-Aid had an amazing sale on the Nivea Lip Butters for only $1.99 they normally run for like $4.99 each when not on sale. So I was super excited that they were so cheap. I had heard great things about them and wanted to try them out. Luckily I was able to pick up all of them for $7.98. Best part of the sale was I got $5 back for purchasing $15 worth of Nivea Products. (Since I bought 3 more lip butters and a lipgloss). I have no idea what I am going to buy yet, but it will most likely be makeup related.

There were 4 different scents, one has no scent and is called Smooth Kiss. The other three scents are Vanilla and Macadamia Kiss, Caramel Cream Kiss, and Raspberry Rose Kiss.

Smooth Kiss to me smells like a lot of the Medicated lip balms and butters. I like the smell lol.. I don't know why. It goes on smooth like Vaseline and doesn't have a disgusting taste. I like this one.

Then we have Caramel Cream Kiss it kinda reminds me of the soft caramel candies. It smells pretty delicious if you like that sort of thing. It is smooth and not too plasticy feeling.

Next is Vanilla and Macadamia Kiss. I love macadamia nuts they are just so tasty. This one definitely has a smell I like and feels so soft on the lips.

Now last because it's my favorite Raspberry Rose Kiss. It smells like sherbert. I LOVE sherbert. Easpecially Baskin Robbins omg.. man now I am going to be craving that. So delicious.

These were a smart buy for me. I like all the scents and they work pretty well. We shall see how they hold up to the kiss test later with my boyfriend. But for now I'm saying I really like them.

April Ipsy Glam Bag Unveiling

I decided to finally bite the bullet and join since I had been thinking about it for a long time and really wanted to do one of the subscription services. I had liked a few of the past bags so I thought why not join now and get in on the fun.

So Ipsy is a beauty sample service, each month you pay about $10 plus tax for a cosmetic bag filled with 4 to 5 deluxe or full size products. It's not a bad way to learn about new companies and try out different things.

This month the bag came with 3 full size products and a sample product all based around the theme Pretty in Pink.

The first item was a Nail Polish by Sation for Ipsy in the color Love at First Byte in a muted pinkish coral color.

I am not too sure on the color but I like to try new things, so you will soon be seeing swatches of it.

The next is Be a Bombshell's Blush in Sweet Cheeks. I like the color, but I don't use much blush so we shall see. I am trying to get more into wearing makeup on a daily basis. So maybe this will be the blush for me. I love the logo for them. It is just adorable.

Then we have Two Cosmetics Eyeshadow Duo in Heartache. It is 2 different shades of Pink, one shimmery and one not. I like them both and will be swatching them shortly.

The last item I got was Healthy Sexy Hair Soy Renewal in travel size. I haven't used it yet but I have heard great things about Argan Oil.

If you get bored and want to see me.. I have a Youtube channel where I talk about hauls and the things I talk about here as well as books and geeky stuff. My Youtube
