Winners of the necklaces & hard candy

My winners for this are easy. there was 2 entries.. so they both won. :) Congrats to both of you I will be emailing you both.

Gap's New Boyfriend shirts Adorable

So I was walking around the mall this week (more then once this week, I admit). I saw the new shirts from GAP that they just came out with for spring and I am so in love with them. I mean have you seen them? They are just to die for.

Here is the kitty shirt. Now tell me you don't want to wear this everywhere. I know that I do.

Or this butterfly shirt. I think it just screams wear me.

The shirts run from $50 - $55 which is a little steep for me. But I think the whole collection is just too cute. I love it.

NCLA Poolside Party, All Eyes On Me nail polish spring color

I was in los angeles this weekend because of an event and got the chance to pick up a NCLA polish. I didn't have any yet. I had to get it so that I would have at least one in my collection and would know how they go on.

I decided to pick up a orangish, peachy color. It was called Poolside Party, All Eyes On Me. It goes on a little streaky, or maybe that's my nail polish painting skills. But it looks like a great color for spring. I really want to do an easter mani, since I haven't really done any mani's yet that are designed so if I have some free time tomorrow that's definitely what I will be doing.

So I like the color but I don't really like the coverage. I tried more then once to get it to go on flat and instead it kept being very streaky. So I would definitely use this as a design color rather then a base color because it's a nice color.. but at the $16 I paid for it. I don't think I will be picking up another one anytime in the near future. But I maybe it's just me.

The color is somewhere between the two pictures. I couldn't capture it with my camera, no matter how many pictures I took. So that's the two closest to it.

Zoya PixieDust Chyna and Dahlia

So Zoya jumped on the bandwagon of textured polishes. I have yet to try my OPI LiquidSand (Soon soon) or any of the other brands of textured polishes. So when I had a chance to get this collection for a steal I knew if I didn't I would regret it. I am in love with the colors and the cool texturing.

So this is just 2 of the 6 there will be 2 more posts to finish off the collection. I am in love with Red and Black so I figured these would be the best way to start off the collection. Red is a great color in general and in this collection it shines.

I really love the way these colors are textured. It is so cool how they look on your nails. Its so uniquely different then other polishes. These new textures look so interesting. This red is really gorgeous and I love the blood red appeal that it has.

Now this black is super sleek and awesome. It will definitely be a staple in some of my mani's from now.

So these are really great. I will be posting some other textured polishes soon as I can. I will also be posting up the rest of the collection shortly.

The Host a night of makeup, giftbags and screenings

So I was lucky enough to get invited to an event put on by the Spehora down at the Hollywood and Highland center this week. I was pretty excited since I had interest in seeing the movie and there was a giftbag to be gotten. ( I will admit I love prizes and giveaways and free makeup, lol) This event was for the new movie that came out in theatres today called The Host. A movie based off a novel by Stephanie Meyer. You might know her because she wrote Twilight. I had seen previews for the film and though I hadn't read the book I thought I kinda want to see the film it looks interesting. I like sci fi so why not give it a shot.

My boyfriend is my ever trusty partner in crime when it comes to events. I love having him come along. Sometimes I will bring other female friends but this time I only had 2 tickets and he had the day off and wanted to see the film. He always wins out. So we took the train down to LA. (Cheaper then driving out there) and hung out all day walking through stores (and spending all my money lol) enjoying our day out together. We got there quite a bit early because I was expecting a big crowd. I didn't know that my invite was a one of only 300 sent out. Less then 100 people showed up for the event. Surprising because normally it is bursting at the seams. Well only 300 special invite tickets were sent out, there was an enormous line of people who got the GoFoBo tickets waiting to see if they were going to get the chance to get into the screening of the movie.

My boyfriend and I met some other ladies waiting for the event and we hung out with them. They were really sweet and were like me, went to lots of premieres and over fun things out in LA. I just realized while writing this that I got no pictures of him there with me. Darn. I wanted to show him off. LOL. It was nice hanging out with other event lovers and we exchanged info so hopefully we shall all hang out again soon. LA is a bit of a distance for me, but good friends and conversation can definitely be worth it.

So we got in line to get our giftbags. Each giftbag had a tshirt, a poster, a pack of pins, some candy, a bag of popchips, a sephora mirror and bag, some samples and a mini purell.

Then we went over and got our makeup done. Which was fun. They had two different styles they were doing one for the seekers which was metallic for the seekers and the other earth tones for the humans. I chose the Seekers. It like the smoky eye look. I know you can't really see because I have my hat on in the picture. But I though it looked nice.

Then we had an hour to kill before the movie, my boyfriend and I found a shady spot and we read for the hour. I read on my kindle and almost finished my book and he read one of the books I recently bought him. Yes he and I are both book worms.

We sat next to our new friends. I will say I fell asleep for about 15 minutes of the movie. Overall he and I both liked the movie. It was cheesy and corny at parts but I like the second half of the movie and though it was completely predictable it was entertaining to watch. I ended up liking the movie. It was cheesy at first but got better, which is basically what I was told of the book, that you should skip the first half and just read the second half, that's pretty much the movie for me. I wasn't into the first half but the second half really picked up.

We ended the night by having Tommy's a tradition for he and I everytime we come out to LA now it seems. I like it and think we will stick with it. I enjoyed my day out. I am glad I got the chance to do it.

Essie Blanc and Licorice Nail Polishes

So I found these the other day. I didn't have a great white or black and I was excited to find these on sale. I like Essie and have a few of the other colors, posts up on those some day. I have over 100 bottles of polish I will review at some point.

So I messed around a little with dotting. I just used the brush, I want to start doing nail art, so here is a start.

The color goes on pretty smooth just a little bit of streaking. I liked the colors. They really are just a simple white and black. So now I have staple colors for those days I wear just white and black.

PAX East My haul ... even though I wasn't there.. YAY

So my sorta stepson, or so I call him, he's my boyfriends son and we've been together quite a while. He calls me mom sometimes, I call him son. I am lucky for the day he becomes my stepson because in truth he is truly a wonderful kid. Well he went to PAX East this last week and got home on Monday. He brought me home a couple of goodies. I was so happy.

A Plants VS Zombies zombie head plushie. OMG soo cute

Splork from Peggle stuffed animal.

Now really he knows I love stuffed animals and so I was super excited.

I might keep the MOGA android controller he gave me for my phone but not until I buy an external battery for my phone since the battery in my DROID now SUCKS.

Last bit of amazing news. I will be at PAX PRIME this year. Just confirmed it. YAY in cosplay all 3 days.

Freaks and Geeks a netflix gem

So I always hear people say that Seth Rogen is in Freaks and Geeks. But I had never seen it. Today I couldn't find anything else to watch so I thought I should give it a try.. No one told me that John Francis Daley, Jason Segal, James Franco are all in the show. I am totally excited. Will definitely watch the entire show by the end of tomorrow.

I love Jason Segal in How I Met Your Mother. I had no idea he was in the show. So much fun.

I like John Francis Daley in Bones. He is the sweetest guy. I met him last year at the Red Carpet Premiere of Horrible Bosses. His girlfriend was smoking hot.

I like Seth Rogen as an actor. I got to meet him at a showing of his new film This is the End. My boyfriend made him laugh out loud. So he was really happy.

LA Colors Jumbo Eye Pencil in Spring, Bikini Time and Beach Resort

Today I hit up a store that was closing and picked up these three Eye Pencils for $1.80. How could I say no to this? I have like tons and tons of makeup, but I realized very few eye liners. So I thought why not.

Now I accidently knocked the end off one of the pencils so it looks funky. Yet other then that it looks pretty good. I like the three different colors so I can't wait to use them.

Bikini Time the purple color is lighter and softer then I prefer but still looks real nice.

Beach Resort the green is the darkest color. I like the way it shows up and most likely will blend really nicely.

The last color Spring is a sweet gold color. I can't wait to mix this up in my looks. It's gorgeous.

I will definitely put these to the test soon and I can't wait to show them off.

3 Events this week. I am so excited.

Next week I am going to 3 different events at Sephora. I can't wait.

Two of the events are for launches for the newest line of Disney Makeup. This new line is Jasmine and it is incredibly gorgeous.

There is a compact mirror, a big palette and a little palette, a set of nail polishes, and an eyeliner set. Sadly like the Cinderella set ths one is selling out super fast due to ebayers wanting to make a quick buck. Hopefully they will have some of the stuff left at the store when I get there on Wednesday (and then at another store on Saturday). I am looking forward to a Ariel collection. That's my princess of choice. Though a Beauty and the Beast compact would be amazing.

The other event I was invited to is for The Host and its a Spa Party before hand and then a viewing of the film before it hits theatres. I am so excited but I feel bad because my boyfriend has to work, so he won't be able to see the movie with me. He wants to see it so I might only stay for the party.

Estee Lauder has come out with a MADMEN collection

This beautiful new collection by Estee Lauder contains 3 new pieces. All fashioned after the hit TV show "MedMen" which has a 2 hour season premiere coming up this April.

The lipstick is a beautiful Pink color. It's called Pinkadelic. It is a nice rich color. The lipstick runs $30 for a tube of lipstick.

The nail lacquer is a light pink color called Pink Paisley. It is a gorgeous pale pink with a purple undertone. I think it will work wonders for the spring season. The nail polish runs $24 for a bottle.

The last piece in the collection is a see thru blush with an awesome design on the compact. The color is light snow and will run you a cool $50.

There is the new collection do you think you will be buying it?

So Cal Beauty Mavens

I figure this is a great place as any. I live in Southern California as many of you already know. I am always looking to meet up with other makeup junkies, cosplayers, geeks, convention goers, musical theatre lovers, or anyone that just wants to have lunch sometime or coffee and talk bloggy stuff or talk about whatever.

In May I will be at Ipsy's Generation Beauty. I am so excited. I won't be getting a hotel since it's an hour from my home but I will be there from open to close all 3 days. So hopefully I can meet up with some of you. I would love to get to know other beauty bloggers and other makeup mavens.

Has anyone got everything all set up to go to Gen Beauty? It looks like it is going to be amazing. I am really excited. All the bests of the industry under one roof. Sounds like a fabulous party.

So if you live in So Cal, especially OC. I would love to meet up. So hit me up. Let me know. You never know, making friends can sometimes lead to great things.

10 Things About You Challenge - DAY 8 - 8 Fears

I saw this challenge on Blush Bug and totally loved it.. So I thought I would totally do it too. It's cute and maybe some of you want to know things about me. :)

Today is the eighth day and all about my fears. I have some crazy ones

1. Needles. They scare me more then I can say.

2. Singing in front of people now. I used to feel super comfortable, now I don't

3. Sleeping in front of a window

4. Being alone

5. Big Drops

6. Growing old alone

7. Wrinkles - i dont have any yet. it defintely scares me.

8. Losing my sight completely

Pure Ice Nail Polish - Strapless and Tame Me Now

So today while I was out shopping I stopped by Walmart to pick up some sodas and thought I'd do a quick run through the makeup department. I mean how can I not really. I seem to stop in every makeup department. So I first saw Tame Me Now and I must say I love orange. So this was almost a guaranteed buy since it just sparkled for me. Then I saw the blue and I just fell in love with it. So here I am showing off my new polishes.

The colors you are looking at are the blue is Strapless and the orange is Tame Me Now. Both glitter polishes. I didn't realize the blue was just glitter until I went to put it on.

So the blue is a beautiful shimmery color. It looks wonderful on the nails. The swatch here is over a plain nail. It goes on a little bit thick and hard to keep it from streaking. It will definitely look better with a bottom color.

The next color Tame Me Now is a gorgeous orange glitter with a bigger silver glitter circles in the mix. I love the color and over a light orange polish this would probably be amazing. I just put it on plain to let you see the polish itself. I had a bit of trouble with it being thick. I wasn't being slow enough on the coats.

Tell me what do you think of Glitters?

H&M clearance haul :)

So I can't walk by H&M and not step into the clearance side because I always get great things. I love the fact that I can get stuff for super cheap. Jewelry for $1 and like today lipglosses for 50 cents.

I picked up 9 lipglosses. 6 different ones for myself and 3 to go in my prize box. I will keep growing my little prize box. Someday I will figure out how I want to do contests that will be wonderful for everyone.

I also got a giant coffee table book that is full of ADs from the last 100 years. I love it. I had no idea that H&M did an ad that had all the models naked, including a women whom is topless and you can almost see her bottom half. It's totally crazy. There are tons of other ads for lots of different companies. The book is normally $20, I picked it up for $2.50. So I am super happy. Love it. Will someday keep it on my coffee table.

The last thing I bought was just a lace red tank top for $2.50. I just loved the color.

So I walked out with everything for $10. Great day.

Nail Polish Remover Pads in Jasmine scent

So on one of my freebie days at Old Navy. If you have been reading me you know what I am talking about. If you haven't you can go read the post about Snap 5's or I can tell you. Old Navy has a cell phone app and you take pics of the logo and it gives you mostly tips for fashion and every once in a while a coupon for something off a purchase. The best coupon is a $5 off a $5 purchase. I always run down and get some of the clearance stuff. One of the last times I was there they had Nail Polish Remover pads in the clearance bin. I got 2 containers and a lipgloss for free. So if you don't have Snap Appy on your phone yet, you should download it. It is a great app.

So I hate having to use nail polish remover from a bottle. I have dumped my bottle on myself more then once, I admit. So I am always looking for a different way to go about taking polish off. I will admit I like the pump bottles and always say I am going to get one and then I don't. When I saw these I knew I should grab them and enjoy them. I didn't know if I would like them because the last ones I used were a different brand and let me tell you they weren't the greatest. I don't remember the brand but I figured I would try again. Shouldn't let one bad experience sully my enjoyment.

These particular ones are Jasmine scented. I don't think they smell like Jasmine, more just like a little bit of flower scent but that does not bother me.

Here's my painted nails before

Here is what the little pad looks like.

Here is the pad plus a second pad I had to use to take off all my polish. I think 2 pads is not a problem, like one for each hand. I like them. The container comes with 30 pads so thats 15 removals.

I don't know if Old Navy is still selling these, but I saw them at Spencer's as well and will be going over to stock up on more since they are clearancing them at my store for $1.50 each.
