My absense and the story

The last few weeks have really been full of ups and downs, from bad medical news, to an amazing birrthday and a few celebrity events and having an unexpected guest crashing in my place, having a hard time of her own. So I haven't been at my computer much and I'm going to be working out of town for the next month but i will have my laptop, internet and I've already taken lots of pictures to keep caught up.

So most of the good stuff will have there own posts coming up shortly this post is to talk about my absence and why.

On july 17, my left eye became sensitive to light, this has happened before and I put on an eye patch to help and figured like normal I would be fine in a couple of days. A couple of days passed and I went to get my permit. (I know I don't have my license, I have pretty bad eye sight and everytime i get my permit I never follow through.) When she asked me oto cover my right eye for the eye exam, for the first time I realized I had lost sight in my left eye.

So my boyfriend took off work and we set up doctor appointments, lots of time , money and misdiagnoses later, on August 16th the opthomalogist told me the prognosis was very grim, being something onset from birth, my eye will probably never get better. I may from time to time be able to see a little bit but for the most part , I'm blind in that eye.

Now as life shattering as this has been for me, the devastating thing that has made some days hard is though i'm blind I'm not legally blind or completely blind, just enough to not have sight. I have to wear an eyepatch the rest of my life. I get to endure stares and questions everywhere I go, which I know in time won't phase me as much.

The gorgeous male bartender at an event I went to recently told me to wear and own it and to be confident, this is going to be a battle for me, so if I don't write from time to time or disappear, know that it is temporary and I am just tryng to process and deal with information.

But don't worry, I'm still wearing makeup.

More Thrift Store Gems

So I have this thrift store spending problem. If I see a good deal I have to pick it up. So I found a Zac Posen for Target dress that looks like a pin up girl style, my heart fluttered and at $3 how could I pass it up.

Then my lucky find of the week was a pair of boots. I just broke my favorite pair while at Comic Con on sunday. So Yippee.

Tell me what have you found this week?

It's so easy to do, harder to master.

Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration spf 30 review

Now that summer is in full swing and temperatures are rising the desire to be outside in the sun is there for most people. You know if you are going to be out playing in the sun you need to be protecting yourself. That's why when I got my Summer Beauty Voxbox and opened it, I was pleased to see that I had gotten some Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration Broad Spectrum Spf 30 suncreen. I love the Hawaiian Tropic brand in general, I have maybe 25 bottles of it in my room right now.. lol.

The moisturizer in it helps to keep my skin looking soft even after I have been in the sun all day. The sunscreen doesn't feel too greasy, that is one of my favorite things about the product. The moisturizing ribbons keep your skin looking soft and the sunscreen is broad speectrum for both UVA and UVB rays. It moisturizes for 12 hours.

Also available in SPF 12, 30, 50!

You can find Hawaiian Tropic products at most major retailers. Suggested retail price: $8.99 for a 6oz bottle

I recieved this product in a Summer Vox Box from Influenster. But the opinions are completely my own.

Nails and Cuticles Hand Creme Sally Hansen Review

Nails and Cuticles Hand Creme Sally Hansen

I got a sample of this from Influenster in my Summer VoxBox. I don't really use cuticle creams but since I got a sample of this I thought I might as well try it out. I like Sally Hansen products normally so I figured that there was a chance I'd like this too.

First off it smells pretty good, I like that it wasn't over powering and didn't feel greasy at all. The hand creme has shea butter in it to soften hands, smooth out cuticles, and condition nails.

I put some on my nails today and my skin feels soft where I put it so I have belief that it's going to make my skin softer, I'll keep trying it out and see where it leads me.

Pretty Little Liars

So lately I've been watching Pretty Little Liars, I'm pretty behind on the show, so please no spoilers since it will be a while before I get totally caught up.

Things I am really enjoying are the fashion of the girls, and love, love, love the makeup. I am super into television, so from time to time you will hear me talk about tv shows.

I love the styles they have the girls wearing, especially Aria's outfits and her eye makeup. That is a look I would love to get good at. I love all the boots Aria wears, I love boots more then I can say.

As a makeup junkie, how can I not love the opening sequence. I love the way it shows the makeup being put on so sensually. It's a great sequnce.

The show is based off a book series by Sara Shepard. I haven't read it yet, but it is on my list of book series to read. I love reading so you can usually catch me with a book in my bag. Right now I have Strange Angels by Lili St. Crow sitting in my purse for days I catch the bus or have extra time at work.
