The Coldest Girl in ColdTown by Holly Black

I got a copy of The Coldest Girl in Coldtown while at San Diego Comic Convention in July 2013. I had been wanting to read it and I haven't had the time so I have been reading it late at night when I can't sleep. I really enjoyed it.

Information about the book from Amazon:

"Tana lives in a world where walled cities called Coldtowns exist. In them, quarantined monsters and humans mingle in a decadently bloody mix of predator and prey. The only problem is, once you pass through Coldtown's gates, you can never leave.

One morning, after a perfectly ordinary party, Tana wakes up surrounded by corpses. The only other survivors of this massacre are her exasperatingly endearing ex-boyfriend, infected and on the edge, and a mysterious boy burdened with a terrible secret. Shaken and determined, Tana enters a race against the clock to save the three of them the only way she knows how: by going straight to the wicked, opulent heart of Coldtown itself.

The Coldest Girl in Coldtown is a wholly original story of rage and revenge, of guilt and horror, and of love and loathing from bestselling and acclaimed author Holly Black."

The book starts out pretty strong and gives you a look into the main characters emotional state as well as shows you a bit about who she is. I like that instantly you start to connect with the character and start to love her. She is placed in a difficult situation and she has to make a quick decision and decides to help an unlikely person.

I enjoyed the story and the twists and turns, the way the characters are designed to interact with each other and how she makes you feel for some characters and hate other characters.

This book came out in September 2013, if you are looking for a new book to read this is a great one to order on amazon or to pick up at your local bookstore or library.

NerdBlock December 2013 Sub Box

I get two different geek subscriptions and this is one of them. I like the shirts and the toys that come in Nerd Block, but I think I am leaning more and more towards letting this subscription go. It feels too expensive for what I am getting. Here is decembers box.

I was planning on doing this sooner but with the holidays I got pushed back. So now I finally get a chance to sit down and write and tell you over the next couple of weeks about all the neat things I have sitting around that are just dying to be talked about.

This is just the picture of the different items in the box, I will be reviewing them soon.

2014 starts with a bang

So all my posting is halted, even though I really want to be posting because I have been in the process of moving. I moved a 22 gallon tote to my garage full of makeup and somebody decided that they wanted it.. and stole it.. So I lost about $5000 in makeup.. along with all my kitchen things, all my sewing fabric, everything I need to sew, tons of handmade dresses and skirts, and all the DC shirts I just drew and so much more on top of that. I am completely devastated mostly because I lost so much handmade stuff... and so much of my supplies for my business. It's gonna cost me thousands of dollars to replace things to get back up and running.. so right now I am a little bit behind and a little dishelved. I am very sorry.. 1d2adada0baed74ecb616e7107ea3339d7a1e0691bbae2e334

Happy New Year

So last year I told myself that I would write 365 blog posts. I didn't get that close, but I didn't didn't do too bad. I wrote 281.. That's not bad in my book.. that's close to 5 times a week.. Just missed it by a couple of weeks.

This last year was crazy for me I went back to school full time, I work full time, I run an online business, and I run a cosplay charity. I think sometimes I need more hours in a day. So sadly the last couple of months with everything I fell behind. So I am sorry. And I missed you guys.

So I am going to make it up to you with a giveaway with week. I will see what I have to share with you and start it up.

My new years blog resolutions are pretty simple and run the way they did last year.. I would like to write 365 blog posts. I would like to share more with you all about my passions and in turn learn more about your passions. I would like to see the numbers here grow. I am always excited to see that Bloglovin' is over 100 people. My facebook page is just under 5000 and my twitter is in the 11k zone.. so we are always moving up.

So tell me how did your New Years go? I hit up Disney California Adventure and played a bit of World of Warcraft.. and now I'm catching up on blog posts and thinking about the new year.

Well I won't stay here too long, my voice is completely gone so I am going to get some rest but see you all soon.

Love ya,

Kitten
