Proactiv Gentle Formula my journey starts here

While at Generation Beauty I met up with a rep for Proactiv. Now I have for a long time been trying to get my skin under control. It doesn't get like crazy bad, but I am not happy with where it is at now.

She gave me a couple of things to try out and she told me we would talk in the future about other products and what is and isn't working for me, or other things I would like to try out.

I received a 3 step set of the new Gentle Formula. I tried out the regular formula and it didn't really work for me. So I am looking forward to see how these products work for me.

I got the Clarifying Cleanser, Clarifying Toner, Clarifying Day Lotion, Advanced Blemish Treatment, Refining Mask and the Green Tea Moisturizer. I will be working these all into my routine and see how I like it. I really am very excited to try it out.

So here is my Before picture.. don't be too mean. I will be posting again in a month to show you my progress with the brand.

So follow me on my journey to getting clearer nicer skin.

Beauty Collection Newport Beach Grand Opening

So Saturday the 18th was the grand opening of the newest Beauty Collection in Newport Beach. This is the first store in the Orange County. It was a very nice grand opening.

I got there super early. I was expecting a crazy early morning crowd because of the value of the giftbag they were giving away. But lately, the crowds seem to be slowing down everywhere. But in my showing up early I ended up befriending another lady who had the same idea as me and wanted to be the rush, so I had someone to chat with for the almost 2 hours until more people started showing up. So we were one and two in line, guaranteed our goodie bags. I had a wonderful time meeting people.

We had some women ask us if the line was starting, they wanted food and there was no one else around so we said we'd save them a spot, they ended up being gone a very long time, making us worry since we didn't want any fights with other line goers for space. Luckily there was no problems. The women were so sweet to us, they bought us each a Sprinkles cupcake. I had a vanilla cupcake, huge and tasty.

As the day got closer to the opening and the line started to get longer, the store was so great to all us ladies sitting in the sun. Every 5-10 minutes they were bringing us out water to make sure we were hydrated. They even brought out little containers of sunscreen to make sure we were all kept sunburn free. (except of course I didn't put enough on and my skin is super burned. I am feeling a bit silly since I don't usually stay in the sun, so having bright red skin is not a good thing for me). They walked around and gave us samples while we waited.

They gave us tickets for the first 57 (they added 7 extra bags, because they had too many people show up and they were so nice and tried to accommodate as many people as they could).

The two o'clock mark hit and they let everyone rush the store. It was a little bit cramped in the store. I walked up to the counter got my bag full of all my goodies, and then purchased a bottle of the OPI Liquid Sand from the Couture Minnie collection.

I walked outside, met up with the friends I had made and we all walked over to Bristol Farms and had lunch. Hopefully we will all be hanging out again soon.

So let me show you the goodie bag.

There are so many products in the bag, full size and deluxe sample size and travel size, there are GWP - gift with purchases, and so much more. I couldn't believe my eyes when I had opened up the bag. You can see me showing off all the things inside the bag, here

Mom's Nite Out May 9th, 2013 Simon Malls

I love going to events, and so when my mall says they are having an event, with it being only a mile from my home how could I say no. I have gone to this event now 3 years in a row. I really enjoy all the events that my mall puts on. They put on 3 events a year, a mothers nite, a girls nite and a fashion nite.

This year I asked my roommate if she wanted to come along. She has a 8 month old, she was excited to go. My boyfriend came along with me since he loves to go to events. (Ok more so he just likes to spend time with me.) We got there early since every year they have a lot of people that show up for the events. You had to be the in the top 50 to get a VIP bracelet, which made it so you got a swag bag. The swagbag was really nice but didn't have much in it.

I'm not sure what exactly was in it, since through out the night I filled it up with all the samples and freebies I was given.

We got in the top 50, and before running over to get our swagbags, we went to Ben Bridge to get the item they were giving away to the first 25 people. It was a purse size bottle of the perfume Flawless. They valued it at $35, I don't know if I agree with that, but it's a cute little bottle.

We walked over to both hair salon tables and they gave us a ton of travel size bottles of stuff. I got some Bumble and Bumble straight shampoo and conditioner. I really like Bumble and Bumble so I was super happy about that, since the mini bottles are like $10 each normally.

We went over and got our makeup done by the girls at Sephora and they gave us a little makeup baggies full of makeup.

After that we got lots of different packets of lotions and such. I love packets and such of samples, gives me things I get to try out and find things I like.

They had lots of contests going on. We walked around and entered them all. I won a $5 jamba juice giftcard. Which made my boyfriend really happy, because he loves Jamba Juice, better then that, they messed up our drink and they gave us 2 drinks. So we got to enjoy 2 drinks, YAY.

Then we went over to the Picture People they were doing a giveaway and taking photos. So my roommate got her pictures taken, and my boyfriend and I took pictures together. (I went back yesterday and bought 4 different poses because they looked really good.)

H2O Toner Review

I never really used toner most of my life and now I am learning things that I should have years ago.

Today I decided to pick up this new toner I had never tried by H2O. I have heard tons about this company, they ran lots of different campaigns during the holiday season. So I when I saw this while out the other day, I knew that I should grab it and try it out.

I can't say this is the toner I am going to stick with. I am still in a search for a toner. I just bought the Lush Eau du Roma so this might get backburned. I do want to give this a shot.

This new product is called Marine Toner, this bottle I got the 8 oz bottle with a blue liquid. I like that the formula is alcohol free. That's good for the skin, alcohol dries out your skin, my skin needs more moisture. The toner also has Provitamin B in it, Wakame, Sea Fennel and Sea Lettace. That's a lot of good marine life to help moisturize and balance out my skin.

The only thing I am not sure about with the toner is that it has a lot of chemicals in it. I have been leaning more and more towards products that are more natural. The dye in it is really my biggest concern, but most products you find on the market are like that. So I can't hold it against them.

L'Oreal True Match Roller Perfecting Roll on Makeup a review

L'Oreal True Match Roller Perfecting Roll on Makeup

I am always on the lookout for a foundation that works for me that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. I mean I love Lancome and fell for Burberry but those cost so much money, so I'm always on the prowl for something I can use.

I think it's pretty cool in concept, the little roller is cute and a neat idea.

The makeup goes on super easy, you don't have to press too hard to make it look even, which is nice. I'm not sure how much I like the coverage it looks slightly cakey but still looks pretty good. It doesn't feel too bad on your skin, very light that you don't know it is there.

I don't know if I would use this everyday but I would put it in my makeup bag in case I ran out of whatever foundation I've found works for me. Still on the look out.

Freemans Anti Stress Mask Dead Sea Minerals Review

I have been meaning to try this for a while and as I type this I actually have the mask on my face. There will be photos. I bought this one in particular because I constantly stress out and seeing how it says Anti-Stress.. I thought I'd give it a whirl :) First impressions I open and squeeze out product and its BLUE.. and I mean blue.. like I look like an avatar blue.. and it is thick in consistency. So I rub it across my face making sure not to get it in my eyes like the bottle tells me. It feels cold against my skin. Now its been like 10 minutes and I think it has mostly dried, my skin feels tight because it dried making me unable to really talk or laugh. But it feels interesting against my skin. I am going to go wash it off now. Be back in a moment . Here is a picture of it on.
Here is a picture afterwards.
Now it is off my skin. My skin feels refreshed and it is nice to be able laugh and smile again. The cool thing is though it was dried the moment water hit it, it became just as it had started and washes off pretty easy. My skin feels clean. I like the way it feels after taking it off I will be using it again. So now information on the product. The company never tests on animals. The one I bought comes in a 6 fl oz bottle for $3.99 at your local drugstore or walmart, target. This one states it purifies and cleans pores. It absorbs oil. I really need that. I tend to have an oily t zone. The Anti Stress Mask - Dead Sea Minerals uses Sea Salt, Lavender and Beragmot to make for a calming and relaxing experience. Check out this product. I really like it.

Physician's Formula Hydrating and Balancing Moisturizer- Review

Physician's Formula Hydrating and Balancing Moisturizer

Last week I went to CVS to pick up my free body wash from the facebook giveaway and upon purchasing it, I got a coupon for $12 of a Physician's Formula skincare item. I spent the next 5 minutes trying to find a skincare item in the makeup section before the chick behind the counter took me over to the new Physician's Formula skincare line. I didn't know anything about it, so I sat down in front of them and read up on them as much as you can in a store on the floor.

I like a lot of the different makeup that Physician's Formula makes and so with the coupon making a product under half the cost, I thought why not give it a try. So I picked up Hydrating and Balancing Moisturizer for $9 normally $19.99. Not a bad deal and hoped it would be a good fit for me.

I've been using it for a week now, I really like the way it feels on the drier parts of my face. The first few days I was using it all over my face, but I didn't like the way it left my forehead feeling more oily then it had started out that day. Yet I really like the way it feels on the flakier parts of my skin. It makes it feel less dry and more normal. So I have been using it on half my face and it feels really great.

It comes out of the bottle a light blue color, which I think is cool. It doesn't feel too thick or greasy which I think is nice. It seems to moisturize well on my skin, I have only been using it for about a week so I can't say how well it works for long term. I will have to update you in a while about the long term effects.

So I would recommend checking out this moisturizer if you are looking for a new moisturizer. They also have a whole line of skincare. I have yet to check out.
