The Place Beyond the Pines a review and Nail Art

Now when this hit the theatres I really wanted to see it. I love all of the main characters. I adore Bradley Cooper (I fell even more in love with him recently in Silver Linings Playbook, such an incredible film). I think Ryan Gosling is a cutie. The trailer made the movie look interesting a carnie guy finds out he has a kid and the story is intertwined with a cop who is trying to stay clean when all the cops around him are dirty.

So the movie was really different then I imagined it to be. The trailer is not exactly good at telling you what is going on, thats no good.. I really really wanted to love it. It got so many high reviews and with the cast I was really excited. I didn't enjoy it. I hate saying anything bad about anything because it is someone's work and dream. So I am going to try to focus on the things I did like about the film. Bradley Cooper. LOL. He really is a great dramatic actor. I felt his character was the best written for the movie. He really brought it.

The story was a little to stereotypical for me and way too clique. I just couldn't get into it.

I used Anise Rock Your World for the base color. Then I used Anise Wasabi for the trees and money sign. I know I am not the best artist but at some point I will get better.

Nail Mail and purchases while out and about this week 5/27-5/29

So I wanted to start this where once a week I show off what I got in the mail or what I purchased, before you see my swatches and reviews of things. This will be anything cool I found while out. So not always completely nail or beauty stuff. I love sharing with you all. I love also hearing from you guys and finding out about your incredible finds throughout your week.

So first off I'm gonna start out with my nail mail. I got 3 botles of polish from ILNP (I Love Nail Polish) during her $3 sale for her old bases. I have really wanted to try out her polishes so I am super excited and the box is just too darned cute.

Next I got my Hooray for May Mystery Julep box with 6 polishes in it. I really love julep the polishes are really nice. I have seemed to misplace this box and I am going crazy trying to find it.

I got a bottle of Lime Crime's Creme De Lemon. I really love Lime Crime and I have yet to try the nail polish, so I was super excited.

Then I stopped at Target this week and got 2 really great superhero sippy cups. I got a Batman and a Wonderwoman one. I use them when I am working on my computer and all my swatching is happening so I don't spill on my computer or other stuff. But I am a little sad that the Wonderwoman one isn't that cute because it is the wrong colors, but that's ok. I still love them both.

Then I picked up the Sally Hansen Sugar Coat and Fuzzy Coat. I am in love with the new textured stuff so I really wanted to check out the new ones from this brand. I will be posting about them very soon. I got a bright vibrant blue and a peach one.

I went over to H&M because like 2 weeks ago they did a thing if you bought anything you got a giftcard for $5 towards your next purchase. So I picked up $15 worth of stuff for the $3 I spent 2 weeks ago. I got 4 lip balms, 1 set of wet wipes and a hair clip. I got $24 worth of stuff. I am quite happy with the stuff. I love the lip balms. I can't wait to review them for you guys.

I ran over to Urban Outfitters for the clearance sale they were having I grabbed 5 bronzers. I am in love with the bronzers. I haven't really used any bronzer so this is my new starter set.

I went to DSW and got two of the Anise polishes one neon green and a bronze. I really dig this polish. I fell in love with the other 2 that I got last time I had a $10 giftcard. That's how I grab the polishes whenever I get giftcards, since I own far too many pairs of shoes.

Lastly I picked up an adorable neon dress and a very cute black and neon green skirt. I got them on clearance over at Jcpenney. I loved them a month ago and when I saw them on clearance I was overly excited. I used the Giftcard I won to grab them.

Sally Hansen Sugar Coat in Razzleberry Review and Swatches

So I got this nail polish the other day at Target. My target had all the colors, but I could only grab this bright gorgeous blue. I really wanted to check it out. I picked it because it was so incredibly vibrant. The blue just jumps out at you. I am all about vivid colors and patterns. You can catch me wearing neon colors and bright patterns almost all the time. I am updating my wardrobe again as it gets to be summer and I get back to being toned. So from time to time I will post pictures of my outfits just because I love to share with you all what fun I am having.

The polish is different from the liquidsand in that it is more like sand then micro glitter. It almost feels like sugar on your nails. It's an interesting texture for sure. I think the color is gorgeous but the application is a little difficult and the texture doesn't grind down like the other textured polishes so it gets caught on things. That's my only real complaint with the polish is that it snags things. I definitely wouldn't wear this with any material that I am known to snag, or I would definitely ruin it.

Star Trek Into Darkness Review and Nail design

So last night I went out to see Star Trek Into Darkness with my boyfriend and his son. I hadn't wanted to see it yet because I hadn't seen the first in this new series. Now I am not really space fan, I know a weird statement to make but it's how I've always felt. Lately though I have been slowly getting more interested in space, galaxy nails are so beautiful and I love them. Makes me want galaxy print leggings. I got into star wars clothing, specifically more R2D2 then anything, and Princess Slave Leia. So I mean I wanted to see the new Star Trek I just wasn't ready, but today was his day off and he found out what film this was supposed to follow from the older series and was really hyped to see it. I figure I can always watch the first one later.

The film is all about Captain Kirk and his crew and the battle between good and evil that comes to bring on a giant fight against the Starfleet.

I was really happy with the script and the acting. I was expecting it to be slightly more campy. I really enjoyed Zachary Quinto's Spock and the character choices he made. Benedict Cumberbatch was a fantastic villain and great in the way he makes you dislike him and feel for him. Chris Pine is a wonderful Captain Kirk, I love how he plays the fearless, authority pushing captain.

The story line is really inviting and interesting and flows well. The characters are great together and they work to grow on each other. I loved that about the film.

I am beyond excited that the way geek films are going that we are seeing more and more well made films coming out rather then the cheesy films that we used to get. I am in love with the way things are going. I can not wait for the next film Man of Steel to hit the theaters.

So here is the first of my nail art I did for Star Trek. I did just a little logo mark. My phone (soon I will be getting a new camera, everyday I get closer to having a real camera again) was taking sadly not the best pictures, but I hope this will suffice.

This is my engineer look, red shirts if you will. I am still undecided if my next cosplay will be red, blue or yellow. I am thinking Red or Blue. I really loved the attention to detail in the costuming of the film. The fabric they used had little logos in it to make up the outfits. So I have to find the same material. But I will for surely be making a dress. I really enjoyed the film. My boyfriend and I are going to start watching the original series and a movie night with the original movies just for fun (After I get him caught up on Supernatural, Dr. Who, Sons of Anarchy, Dexter, True Blood and Game of Thrones, lol)

I will be doing other looks soon.

Hare The Monster review and swatches Indie Polish

I keep looking for more and more indie polishes, since they are the getting more and more popular. I am falling in love with so many brands. It is getting more and more expensive, lol by the fact that I just want everything.

This is my very first Hare polish. I bought it from another blogger who had depotted it. I am still not sure why people depot polishes. But it was my luck because I really wanted to try out the brand. Depotting for those of you who don't know what it means, is to just put the polish into a different bottle, some people do it if the bottle gets damaged or if they don't like the shape of the original bottle or for a million other reasons.

The polish has a slight greenish blue tint to it. The glitter is small and dark blue and green. It applies smoothly and with a lot of glitter distribution. I really like it. It really is a beautiful shimmer glitter polish, and was a great addition to my collection.

OPI Texas series I Vant To Be A-Lone Star Review and Swatch

I got a ton of mini nail polishs in the mail the other day. I got this gorgeous pale blue nail polish in the color Texas (I'm learning so much about OPI, there was no name on the bottle just letters and numbers and I found the name that way).

The color is a pale shimmer blue polish. I really like OPI because they dry pretty quickly, are rich in color, you can find almost any color you want and are applied quite easily.

The color is splendid and going to look great as a base color for lots of blue/green and gold glitter polishes. I love finding great base colors that I can use to pair with other polishes I have laying around.

Couture Minnie OPI LiquidSand Magazine Cover Mouse Polish Review and Swatches

Yesterday I went to a huge event where I got a ton of free items. They gave us a huge giftbag as part of the grand opening of the store. I was super excited because they had the new Minnie Couture OPI nail collection. I decided to purchase the liquid sand polish from the collection in Magazine Cover Mouse. I like the gorgeous red with gold. I couldn't wait to get the color because I am really digging all the textured polishes. I just had to have this one in my collection. It is just beautiful.

The liquid sand is really catching my eye, I love the micro glitters and the way it just generally looks on nails. So I am glad to see it coming out in more of the collections. I want to get the bond girl collection but I need to not spend too much. This was my mini splurge yesterday.

Do you have a favorite liquid sand, or textured polish yet?

Picture Polish Hot Lips Reviews and Swatches - Hot Pink Tips Nail Art

Now this is the next in my series of Picture Polishes - a week on your tips never on your hips, that I purchased recently. Trust me I am in love and trying to get more for you all to see. (I do have Blogger, that will be up next week early).

This is Hot Lips a very neon hot pink. I totally dig it and decided to use it in a little bit of nail art instead of painting my whole nail with it. I hope you enjoy it.

It goes on very smooth and dries quite quickly and you don't have to worry about the polish looking dull its very glossy.

If you haven't checked them out you should. I love the polish.

Square Hue Day Glo 5/13 Review and Swatch

I grabbed one of these polishes the other day because I had been thinking about joining the subscription service. I really love all the different subscription services, so I am always on the look out for a new one. This one is called Square Hue. I was able to grab one of the three nail polishes that came in this month's box it was called Day Glo and it is a hot pink. I obviously have a thing for pink if you can't tell. Yay

I love the bottle it is so cute, all square and such. Very adorable. I like all the different size bottles, I'll probably be annoyed with them when I finally get my makeup area put together and they live uncomfortably in the helmers I buy for them.

The color is really nice and almost matte. Not glossy but not completely matte. I did have a little trouble painting it on because I was doing it backwards on my bad hand, but it didn't look too streaky and doesn't go on gloopy at all.

There are pictures with flash and without. I am getting better at photography, and when I get my new camera and work space, hopefully the pictures will be much better. :)

Picture Polish Pshiiit Review and Swatches

This is the first of many reviews on Picture Polish. I love the bottles and so as of late I have collected quite a few to swatch for you. This first one is Pshiiit a green teal color with green glitter. I am totally in love with the color and with the polish. It comes on pretty smooth, unless you try to coat more then 3 times without redipping the brushes.

This is the first of my Picture Polish and my second Australian polish. If you live here in the states they really aren't the cheapest polishes to get, I have been lucky in getting them from people who had already purchased them and wanted to swap them out.

Ozotic 509 silver holo nail polish review and swatches

Now I am getting in to trying out lots of different brands of polish, so you will all be seeing a lot of different brands of nail polish, as well as lots of different brands of makeup in general, because who doesn't like variety. So today's new to me brand is Ozotic. It is the same brand that sells Picture Polish. There will be a few reviews of Picture Polish coming up. I have a bunch that have entered my collection recently I am excited to share.

This color is a beautiful silver with a blue and green holo. It is very pretty. Almost completely silver in just normal light, it shines as you move it back and forth.

The color goes on real smooth and looks beautiful. I really liked it a lot. I definitely will use it more, I want to use it to make some nail art.

Julep Essential Cuticle Oil Review

I got this in my first ever julep box. I think I got the box in November 2012. I hadn't used this but today I found it while going through some boxes of polish. (Reorganization of my makeup, it will take weeks I am sure, and hopefully I will get everything into a nice organized setting.)

This Julep Essential Oil smells really nice. I like the way it smells. I could smell my nails more often then probably I should, in that looks crazy sort of way. It has a almost spicy smell to it.

It goes on very oily (yes its oil duh) but it dries pretty quickly, so that's not a problem. I am not sure how nail polish will go on after using it. I will be finding that out shortly.

I have seen some people say use it to keep polish from sticking to your skin when you are doing things like sugar spun nails, or gradient, to keep your skin clean.

I am going to start using this and will see how it will work on my nails.
